We are having a fun week getting ready for our party. I use the word fun today, but come Saturday I am not so sure that is the word I will be using. No, I love having parties especially ones that celebrate my girls. I can’t wait to see their faces when it is all set up and our special guests arrive. That part remains a secret for now. I will fill you in on Monday (after the party).
Today it is time to talk about all things related to food. Thank you Jenn for hosting What I Ate Wednesday. Lately, I have felt really good about what I have been eating. I notice I feel so much better when I eat healthier.
Post Workout 6:45am
I made my peanut butter protein shake. It is seriously so easy.
6 ice cubes, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 tablespoons peanut butter powder (I stopped using PB2 and I will tell you why in a minute), and 1 scoop protein powder (Stronger, Faster, Healthier is my favorite).
I don’t know why it took me so long to notice, but did you know PB2 has added sugar and salt? Well, silly me didn’t even take the time to look I simply saw a lot of healthy living bloggers using it so I jumped right in. Well, about a month or so ago I decided to read the label (I had read an article that talked about peanut flour) and low and behold it had added sugar and salt. So, I started to research what peanut flour only had simply roasted peanuts as the ingredient. This ingredient list makes me feel much better; less ingredients the better.
Breakfast 8am
Once the girls woke up we made some Greek Yogurt Waffles.
Snack 10am
I love my sweet treats, but I always make sure to only eat a few.
Snack 11am
I was hungry once again so I had some turkey, hummus, and carrots. McKenzie and McKayla love eating hummus by the spoonful.
Lunch 12pm
A poached egg on sprouted grain bread. It was delicious. I paired it with a bowl of fruit.
Snack 2pm
Egg and sausage muffin. These have been my go to afternoon snack. The protein is satisfying and keeps my full. McKayla always shares these with me, I love sharing healthy foods with my girls.
Pre-Dinner Snack 4:00
These paleo protein bars are my favorite; they are seriously a must try. McKayla loves them too. I guess my picky little McKayla is just like Mama. We are in trouble.
recycled picture – I couldn’t take one today because McKayla wouldn’t let me stop feeding her; she devoured the bar.
Dinner 6pm
It was a breakfast for dinner kind of day. So, we had my delicious and easy pumpkin pancakes.
I have been loving my eating lately, except I know I’m not getting in enough veggies. I definitely need to add in a daily salad. My goal is to add a salad in by next what I ate Wednesday. You can quote me on that.
