I can’t believe I am already on week 2 of The Master’s Hammer & Chisel. Time flies when you are having fun. Find workouts you love and it will never feel like a chore. I am loving these workouts.
As most of you know I completed 2 rounds of 21 Day Fix Extreme and continued to follow the eating plan throughout most of last year. This time around I am working on making this meal plan practical; meaning if I want a treat I make sure to work it in (I will trade one yellow for something sweet, that’s not on the plan.). This eating plan reminds me a lot of if it fits your macros (IIFYM) to some extent; it focuses on eating a certain amount of food from each food group.
Meal 1
After completing Chisel Agility (which is one of my favorites, thus far) and getting ready for the day I ate some pumpkin protein pancakes. Wow, I haven’t had them in a while and they really hit the spot. (1 red, 1 yellow)
Meal 2
After driving Sophia to school and going to Isabella’s gymnastics I had a beef taco salad. These salads have been my go to lately, I simply top my lettuce with taco beef, 1/8 cup of brown rice, a sprinkle of cheese, and a dash of taco sauce. (1 red, 1/2 blue, 2 green)
I forgot to take a picture I’m sorry.
Meal 3
I enjoyed one of my new mini apple crisps with a 1/3 cup of ice cream (Ice cream is not on the plan, but I figured the amount I used would count as 1 yellow.). I decided I wanted to make sure I am creating healthy lifestyle not just a one time diet, therefore I want to allow myself these little healthier indulgences. (1 yellow, 1 orange – I am not even counting the fruit because it is 1/6 of an apple)
I also had a 1/4 cup of my paleo granola. (1 orange)
Meal 4
I was hungry, but not starving so I didn’t want anything too big therefore, I enjoyed a 1/2 cup of strawberries and grapes. (1 purple)
Meal 5
It was just after 3:00pm and I was getting hungry and didn’t want to just grab something to mindlessly munch. So, instead I took the time, cooked 4 egg whites and heated up a bowl of tomato soup. It was a great way to get more protein in and satisfy my hunger. I ate 3 pieces of turkey while I waited for them to cook (I told you I was starving.). (1 red) (1 green)
Meal 6
I made my paleo cashew chicken, but in the oven not the crockpot (like the original recipe). It was quick, easy and delicious. See, sometimes I just don’t think about dinner early enough to start the crockpot, so I made this one the oven and it was just as good, maybe better. I simply followed the directions except after I cooked the chicken on the stove I combined it with the sauce, put it in a foil lined cast iron skillet, then place it in the oven at 425 degrees for 15 minutes (the last 3 minutes I broiled it). This chicken was delicious, definitely a winner in our house. We ate it with a side of rice. (1 red, 1 yellow)
Meal 7
I ended my night with an apple. I love something sweet and an apple hit the spot. Sometimes I love to top my apple with almond butter, but tonight I kept it simple.
