WIAW # 118 – Hammer & Chisel

WIAW # 118 – Hammer & Chisel

As most of you know I started The Master’s Hammer & Chisel workout program on Monday. I am also following the meal plan. This meal plan is pretty much the same 21 Day Fix plan I followed for many, many months last year, so I pretty much have it down pat. I love that it provides structure to my eating, which helps me stay focused and continue to make healthier food choices each day. It has helped me get back on track from all the tasty holiday treats (Yes, I enjoyed a few too many, but it was just what I needed.).

I am following Plan B of the eating plan which has me eating between 1500-1799 calories each day.

After completing ISO Strength Chisel this morning I ate my Greek Yogurt Waffles, 21 day fix style (1/3 cup flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla extract – mix it all together and cook it in your waffle iron, quick and easy). (1 red, 1 yellow)

Once we got home after getting Sophia on the bus and going to gymnastics I ate homemade nachos. Easy, delicious and filling. (1 red, 1/2 yellow, 1/2 blue, 1/2 tsp.)

A little later I felt like something sweet so I ate 1/2 cup strawberries and 1/2 cup grapes (fruit keeps my sweet tooth in check). (1 purple)

wiaw - bulk fruit

Of course, a few hours later I was hungry again so I heated up a bowl of my homemade healthy tomato bisque soup with two meatloaf muffins. (1 green, 1 red – it might be 2 greens, but I am not too worried about going over on my veggies, so 1 is close enough)

I grabbed two clementines before heading out to the bus stop. (1 purple)

I wasn’t sure what I felt like for dinner so tonight I ate two different meals. First, I ate 1 taco using my new favorite corn tortillas, salsa chicken, cheese and lettuce with a small taco salad of lettuce, salsa chicken, cheese, a splash of rice. (1 green, 1 red, 1/2 blue, 1/2 yellow)

These tortilla are the best. They taste amazing and 3 of them only have 120 calories.

For the second half of my dinner (which I had an hour or so after the first) I had 4 eggs whites with slice sweet potatoes cooked in olive oil. (1/2 red, 1 yellow, 1 tsp.)

One of my favorite things about this meal plan is that I never feel hungry. I actually feel as though I am eating all day long. I will say the first day or two can be difficult, but not because you are hungry simply because you have to re-think what you are eating. You have to retrain yourself.

Just out of curiosity, I put my days worth of food into MyFitnessPal to see how many calories I actually consumed as well as how my macros lined up. My food was almost exactly 40, 40, 20. This plan really is (If It Fits Your Macros) IIFYM made easy.
