What I Ate Wednesday # 39

What I Ate Wednesday # 39

Good Morning everyone. My meals have been very simple lately, I am just exhausted. I truly don’t have the energy to think about making anything at all, especially not anything new. One of these days I will have a new recipe for you I promise!

Breakfast – 9:00

I slept in today! My mom came over and got Sophia and Isabella out of bed at their usual 7am and I slept until 8:45am with McKayla and McKenzie. When I say I slept in that simply means I didn’t have to get out of bed. I did have to feed McKayla at 7am. I can’t tell you how crazy it is to have two babies toΒ feed and take care of during the night. I feel like I am up all night, but I try not to complain because I know this will only last for a short while and before I know it they will be running around not needing me.

I had Greek Yogurt Waffles for breakfast.

Snack – 11:00

WIAW 39 - fruit

Lunch – 12:30

I had my typical mismatched lunch, it hits the spot and is quick. A turkey wrap with cheese and hummus paired with a peanut butter and jelly wrap. Both of which were on high fiber wraps (I have been loving these wraps lately).

Snack – 4:00

Go Lean cereal, another one of my quick favorites and you can’t beat the protein and fiber content.

Dinner – 6:00

I know last week I talked about how our wonderful family and friends we have been bringing us meals and helping with our girls. This week was no exception. Last night, one of my sweet neighbors made us a delicious meal of stuffed shells, salad and bread sticks. She also brought peanut butter and chocolate puppy chow.

I didn’t remember to get a picture of everything. Actually, I only got a picture of my second helping of stuffed shells. My first helping went too fast.

Dessert – 7:00

Single Serving Microwave Chocolate Cake

I know last week I talked about how I realized I was not eating enough. I am sorry to admit it hasn’t changed. I know I need to eat more and I will continue to try. I am just exhausted I don’t have the energy to eat. I will continue trying to eat more, I don’t want my milk supply to diminish. I think I need to start making my protein shakes again.

In the Comments Below:

  1. Do you tend to eat more or less when you are tired?
  2. Do you tend to eat the same things day in and day out or do you change it up?

You are so good to notice that you are not eating enough. Isn’t it insane how much you must eat to feed two babies??!! Sometimes I feel like an Olympian trying to get all the calories in! When I’m tired I tend to snack on not so healthy foods, so I try to make better choices, but then I realize that I do need the calories no matter where they come from so I take what I get. At night if I look back and realize I didn’t have enough calories/fat, I’ll have a huge bowl of ice cream. That usually helps πŸ™‚ I know not the healthiest thing in the world but our bodies need the calories and fat to keep up the milk supply for two. You are doing an amazing job! I’m sure you must be so exhausted with four children…I’m exhausted with two! But like you said, this time won’t last forever and cherish it while it lasts πŸ™‚

    • Thank you, you are so right about how much you need to eat. I think the girls are starting to eat more because I am all of a sudden becoming hungry all the time. It is truly insane. These past few days I have realized I need more readily available meals. I cant simply have a small snack I need more meals, but I don’t have time. Ahhh!! I am going crazy just thinking about how I am going to do this. πŸ™‚ We definitely need calories!!

  2. Usually I eat more when I’m tired, but having a newborn puts “tired” on an entirely new level, and when I was THAT tired, I didn’t eat as much either. Trail mix helped me a TON! Packed with calories, healthy fats, and protein!

    • Yes, having a newborn is a completely different than anything I have ever experienced. I am going to have to get/make some trail mix that is a great idea. Thank you!!

  3. When I’m sleepy tired I tend to eat less, but when I’m tired (but still trying to function πŸ˜‰ ) then I eat more. haha.

Your friends sound wonderful. As does that puppy chow. πŸ™‚

    • I couldn’t survive without my friends and family. πŸ™‚ Oh I need to get to the store and buy more. Haha!!

  4. It just depends, if I’m exhausted I don’t really feel like eating much. Id I’m tired and need to stay awake to do things, I feel like eating, which I tend to eat more than I should!

    • You are so right, trying to get things done I typically do eat more. But I think I am overly exhausted I don’t even feel like eating. πŸ™‚

  5. The Greek Yogurt waffles look amazing!!!
