What I Ate Wednesday # 28

What I Ate Wednesday # 28

Good morning everyone. We are heading out to go to our weekly ultrasound this morning. I missed seeing the twins on Monday, I can’t wait to see how they are doing. I will fill you in on the details tomorrow.

I can’t believe it is already Wednesday. When Steve is off on a Monday, the week just seems to go by quickly. I have to warn you it was a strange day of eating. I really didn’t feel hungry. But, I knew I had to get my protein in, so of course I did my best.

Meal #1 – 7:30

We started the day with one of my favorite high protein breakfasts, protein pancakes. As usual, they were delicious. I paired these with a banana. (30 grams of protein)

Snack # 1 – 10:00

Fruit Salad (I love fruit) and a bowl of Go Lean Cereal. (18 grams of protein)

WIAW 28 - fruit

Meal # 2 – 12:00

Turkey and cheese wrap with homemade pita chips and hummus. (20 grams of protein)

Snack # 3 – 3:00

Carrots with hummus, I have been loving hummus lately. I could eat it all day long.

Meal # 3 – 6:00

Steve’s golf league was canceled tonight because of all the rain. I was not prepared to make dinner, so we basically each some random food.

I made a large salad with leftover chicken, walnuts, and a sprinkle of cheese. It was delicious and hit the spot. I wanted to get some veggies in for the days, this was perfect. (30 grams of protein)

WIAW - Salad

Dessert – 7:30

I ended the day with my favorite Microwave Single Serve Chocolate Cake with a scoop of ice cream. Yum! (2.5 grams of protein)

WIAW 28 - chocolate cake

Total Protein: 110.5 grams

Total Water: 200 ounces (my new cup is helping me drink even more water)

I can usually eat popcorn in a pinch, but I hardly ever don’t want to eat. 🙂

When I know I need to eat but don’t want a meal, I usually snack on hummus and veggies, too! It’s easy, tasty, and healthy. Can’t beat that. And 200 ounces of water is amazing. Go you! 🙂

I have a LOT of off days when I eat, but I really try to keep it under control. Most of the time when I know I need something to eat but nothing sounds good, I find some almonds or cashews 🙂

I could definitely eat hummus all day long too! I’ve made sure to have a tub on hand at all times lately.
And that cake looks amazing! I love the “molten” chocolate 🙂

I have been loving hummus as well lately! I have actually been pretty hungry in the 3rd trimester so far…but then again there have been more days where I just don’t know what I feel like eating. I stand in the kitchen for a while thinking about it and can’t make up my mind! But like you, I am making sure to pack in that protein. We want these babies as big as we can make them for whenever they decide to come out!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Looks like you had a lovely day 🙂 What a special year ahead it will be!

I have never had any luck with single serve mug cakes, but yours looks yummy! I should try again. 🙂

    • I tried a few others before I figured this one out it really is delicious. I figured out for me it was the egg that I didn’t like in the other cakes. If you try it let me know what you think. 🙂

I just came across your blog and I am so happy I did. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with identical twins. I have been so nervous about all the things that can go wrong but reading your blog has been really nice. I have been seeing a specialist and will start going every 2 weeks at week 17 to make sure they don’t develop Twin to Twin Transfusion. I however didn’t realize that if they do develop it they can still go on to be ok without surgery which is encouraging. All the books and websites seem to focus on the negative and I’m glad to read someone who is going through the process and has a positive attitude!

    • Thank you so much. You seriously made me day. I truly hope I can help people through my blog. I am glad I could be of some reassurance.

It sounds like you are under wonderful care and from everything I have learned that is what is most important. There have been a few studies that suggest a high protein diet along with lots of water and rest can help mono/di twins either not develop twin to twin or help stabilize them and that is what I have been following. I figure I am going to do whatever I can to help and those things definitely cannot hurt.

I am so glad you found my blog. I will pray that everything continues to go well for you. Please keep me updated, I will be thinking about you. I really try to have a positive outlook, but let me tell you it can be difficult!! But I do live me life with happy thoughts. 🙂

Thank you and I will pray for you and your girls as well! I have also read that a high protein diet can help and I am going to be using a lot of your recipes!

Thank you again and I will continue to follow you and your family’s journey! 🙂

That microwave cake looks really good! Have you ever tried making a protein version? That would be awesome for days where you didn’t feel like eating. Dessert + protein = win 🙂
