Good afternoon everyone. I hope your day is off to a great start. We had Sophia’s last dance classes this morning and tomorrow is dress rehearsal. Wow, I can’t believe my little girl is going to be in her first recital. I am so excited, but also a little sad. My little girl is growing up so quickly.

In yesterday’s post I talked about the rough start to our week last week and how Sophia all on her own apologized. I started think about what a wonderful thing it is to learn to say your sorry when you made a mistake. We all make mistakes and she will too as she grows up. I really want my girls to know it is okay to make mistakes and no one is perfect. I don’t ever want my girls to be afraid to make a mistake.

My No No No Day

Last night as we were reading our bedtime stories andΒ I realized that one book we love to read teaches us all about having an “off” day and saying your sorry. It also talks about how to try to have a better day the next day.

My No NO NO Day a great book to teach kids about having a bad day and saying your sorry. My girls also definitely learn to apologize from me. I always make sure to say I am sorry to them if I made a mistake.

The girls birthday invitations have finally arrived in everyone’s mailboxes. I know I am so behind, but hey they have two weeks to figure out if they can join us. πŸ™‚ At least they will easily know what they have going on that day.

When we ordered these invitations Sophia said she wanted a princess party and I said that would be wonderful. Well, this past weekend we went to the store to decide on the cake and low and behold she changed her mind. She now wants a Tinkerbell/Periwinkle party. In case you aren’t familiar with those characters they are Disney fairies and they are sisters. I told her that is actually perfect since the party is for both Sophia and Isabella and they are sisters. She immediately loved the idea. So now you have it the invitations are all princess, yet the party is all fairies. πŸ™‚

Appointment Yesterday

I know many of you have been asking about how our appointment went yesterday so I wanted to give you a quick update. I will go into more detail on Thursday. The main thing is the twins look great. They are still passing the biophyiscals (BPP) with flying colors and their dopplers look fantastic. They are healthy and still thriving.

After our ultrasound we met with the perinatologist to discuss the end plan. She said for uncomplicated mono/diΒ pregnancies she suggests 36 weeks as the max delivery date. However, our mono/di pregnancy has not been uncomplicated. We have had quite a few hiccups. Therefore she suggests 34, maybe 35 weeks. Having the twins at this gestational age means they will most likely definitely have to be in the NICU. πŸ™ I will talk more about everything I am feeling on Thursday.

In Comments Below:

  1. What are some children’s books you love to read that teach a lesson?
  2. Any advice for when our twins are in the NICU? How to get through it?

The birthday party idea sounds perfect for your cute girls! I’m sure they are so excited!

As for the NICU, as hard as it is, try to stay optimistic! If they do have to be in the NICU for awhile, just remember that it’s incredible what those nurses and doctors can do for our little ones. I am amazed at how many miracle stories I’ve heard coming from the NICU since Hunter was there. I’m just SO thankful for the modern medicine and intelligent doctors we have these days. Remember, you want the end result of your little girls being healthy! Hugs to you mama! xoxo

    • Thank you. They can’t wait!!

When my doctor was giving me all the information I immediately thought about you. Thank you so much for you wonderful story. It really shows me that everything will be ok. It gives me hope and faith. πŸ™‚

I think the birthday party sounds absolutely perfect!!

I know they are making HUGE strides in the NICU these days so if they do have to be in there, at least you know that they are going to be SO well taken care of and maybe they won’t have to stay long. Glad to hear the appointment went well!

    • I hope it turns out, I have been so off my game this year. But my mom has been amazing. πŸ™‚

Yes, Steve keeps telling me that since the little one is not growing inside the doctors can do more for her outside and I know that. At this point I just want healthy girls. πŸ™‚

Love the invitations and theme. So cute! And I’ll def. have to look up the book you mentioned…sounds like a great one to have.

I just had my twins a week ago at 34 weeks, 1 day and they are going AWESOME! They are in the NICU, but are about to be moved to the level 2 nursery as they are not intensive care babies anymore. From day one they have not needed oxygen or anything significant like that. They did have feeding tubes for literally two days, but that was more just to supplement them in case they were too tired to take all of their bottle. Since then they are AMAZING with their bottle feedings and suck down every ounce. They should be in the hospital for about one more week or so and they are just working on them gaining weight and being able to keep up their body temperature on their own. So what I’m basically saying is that if/when (you will!) make it to 34 weeks your girls will do incredible. This is a huge milestone to make and I promise you your sweet baby girls will be ready to come out and meet you and your loving family. I know the unknown is scary, but I really think they will do just fine being more at 34 weeks. Hang in there and please let me know if you have any questions! πŸ™‚

    • I just went to your blog. They are beautiful, congratulations. I am so happy for you. It is was wonderful to hear a good story of twins born at 34 weeks. I pray we can make it there. Your story in an inspiration!!

Oh no! In my “under the weather” stupor this morning I forgot to add a link up! I promise I’ll get back on it soon!
I love the princess theme! Leave it to girls to change their minds right!?! Starts so young! Ha!
I’m glad to hear the twins are doing good! I’m sure the thought of them being in the NICU is very scary. My son was only in there for a few hours but it was still frightening. I will say on the positive side you know they will be getting the very best care possible and are getting so much more attention there than they would be if not in the NICU. That seems somewhat comforting πŸ™‚

    • I am sorry you are not feeling the best, it is no fun. Don’t worry about it, I love Toddler Tuesday!

My girls are definitely typical change your mind girls. Haha. Sophia always says “I changed my mind”. πŸ™‚

Whenever you kids are at the doctors or somewhere they need to be taken care of it is scary. Yes, everyone tells me the NICU doctors and nurses are wonderful.
