So, today over on Debbies Digest the theme for Think Back Thursday is doors and entryways. I truly have never taken a picture of my entryway. Sad, I know. We have only been living in our house for about two years, so it just hasn’t been something I have taken the time to do. I have been working on decorating the rest of my house and I guess our front entry has gotten neglected.
Since I am working on my Christmas cards for this year. I thought I would show you the years past.
The last two years we have had them professionally taken; they design the cards and label the envelopes. Perfect, right? They are fabulous to work with too.
The two previous years I was always scrambling. I just hadn’t gotten into the whole swing of family Christmas cards yet.
Sophia’s first Christmas, we were so behind I actually had to take my own pictures and figure the card out in a couple of days because we were way late.
Christmas 2009 – Sophia’s First Christmas
The next year I got a little better. We didn’t have time to get professional pictures taken, but we had some taken in June for Sophia’s first birthday, so I used those.
Christmas 2010
Our third Christmas as a family I was actually sort of on top of things. We were a little late in scheduling our professional pictures, but we still had enough time to get it all done.
Christmas 2011
Wow, looking about at these cards, I can’t believe how much our family has changed over the years.
For this years Christmas card, I was so on top of things, we actually had time to go get outside family pictures taken. Crazy? I know. Surprisingly, these pictures turned out great. I never know how these photographers manage to do it. I mean getting my two little ones to even look at the camera, let alone slime is a big deal. But somehow she got so many great pictures I had a difficult time deciding which ones should go on the card. As, soon as we get the cards and the pictures back I will post some. I have to say the photographers we worked with made the experience fun and enjoyable.
However, I do have to say, good thing we only take family pictures a couple times a year. It is so stressful getting ready for the pictures and I am always exhausted afterwards. 🙂
What do you do for your Christmas cards? How is it getting your family pictures taken? If you have older children, please tell me it does get easier?
