Happy Memorial Day to everyone. I want to first remember all of our fallen heroes, the wounded, and those on active duty. Thank you for protecting our freedom.
I hope you are able to enjoy some fresh air today. Summer is approaching quickly. Us girls are going to be spending the day at my parents house relaxing outside, while the boys spend the afternoon golfing. Sounds like an almost perfect day to me. Ideally, I would love to be at the pool, but it is simply not warm enough here. However, this is definitely the next best thing!!
Thank you Katie for hosting. As always, head on over to Healthy Dive Eats and check out all the Marvelous happenings. Don’t forget to share some of yours!!!
Today, is a marvelous day because it is my birthday. 🙂
I know we are all supposed to begin getting upset as the years go by, but I love birthdays always have, always will. I love celebrating life!
Since, it is my birthday I got to decide what we do today and as I said above we are having my almost ideal day. It is truly marvelous because I am with my family. Now that I have children of my own I realize how amazing my parents have been throughout the years (I started to realize this before kids, but it become even more apparent afterwards). They are the best parents a girl could ever ask for. I can only hope to be as wonderful a parent as they were and still are today. So, today is not only about me it is about thanking them for loving me from the moment I was born.
A Marvelous Little Girl
A few days ago, Sophia told Daddy she knew what she wanted to get me for my birthday. I am simply so touched that Sophia thought of something on her own. I really don’t care what it is, I am just so pleased to know that my little girl thought of something special to buy her mommy on her birthday. I am blessed beyond words.
Surprisingly, Sophia kept it a secret until today.
Sophia and Daddy went to the Disney store to pick out a Minnie cup for me. She told Daddy last week that he has a Mickey cup (coffee), but Mommy doesn’t have a Minnie one. She knows I don’t drink coffee, so she thought a cup for all Mommy’s water would be perfect. 🙂 This is the best gift I could have ever asked for; it is so thoughtful. She then had to pick out a Tinkerbell bag and a card.
We also had a marvelous birthday party at Steve’s mom’s house.
It was a chilly but beautiful day. We sat outside and watched the girls run around. They had so much fun playing kickball with Gram (Steve’s mom), and Nana (Steve’s Great Grandma). Per my request, for dinner we enjoyed a typical memorial day BBQ. We had hamburgers, corn on the cob, oven potatoes, and fruit. I forgot my camera so I have no pictures, but I know Steve’s step-dad took a bunch so I will get those soon. 🙂 I am very blessed to have a mother-in-law who loves and treats me like one of her children.
A Marvelous Picture
Isabella decided this was the easiest way to drink the milk out of “Mommys” cereal bowl.
