I know I say this time and time again, but Mondays are exhausting. I feel like I always have so much to catch up on. See on the weekends I really try to just relax with my family, but that means I have a lot to do come Monday. Monday evenings are also very busy for us, but that’s okay being busy means we are living life. Right?! At least that’s what I tell myself. Ha!!
Our weekend started off with a wonderful girls night. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I have with my girls.
But before the fun could begin we had to do our end of the day duties. We picked up Isabella at 3:45 then hurried over to get home and run (literally run) to the bus stop to get Sophia at 4:04. Before taking off on our dash to the bus I tried shutting the garage, but no such luck. Yes, right at this moment our garage decides to stop working. Seriously? Then Isabella calls to me and says she stepped on a huge bug I look down and realize it’s not a bug it’s a LIZARD. Yes, a lizard. Really?! I start laughing, what else am I going to do. It actually was funny. Well I can’t deal with this little lizard at the moment we have to run. So, off we go to get our Sophia and we make it just in time.
Once we got back to our house the lizard was gone and I couldn’t stop thinking that it’s got to be in our garage. Gross. Yuck. Haha!! We finally found it crawling around on our neighbor’s yard. Whew!! The girls loved watching this little guy move around for a good 15 minutes. Too funny. I’m not going to lie seeing this little creature gave me the willies. I am simply not a nature girl, never have been never will be. 🙂
We had such a fun Saturday. Uncle Fran and Aunt Sarah were in town and we all went to U of M to tailgate for the big game (I’m not going to go into details about the unfortunate loss; in the end it’s just a game. Yes we are disappointed, but both teams played well and we are moving on.). We celebrated Mimi’s birthday with chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes. YUM!!
After tailgating we hurried home to watch the game and relax with our girls. The perfect Saturday, besides the outcome of the game. 🙁
Sunday morning we woke up and headed out to visit Steve’s mom and stepdad. We then went over to my parents house to have breakfast with everyone. My mom made one of our favorites Baked French Toast with Topping (not healthy, but oh so delicious; everything in moderation.) When I talk about moderation I simply mean I have this is the morning and a salad later in the day; I try to keep my days balanced. If I have a day where I eat unhealthy foods all day long then the next day I will get back to clean eating. I will tell you I am not perfect. I do follow a 100% clean diet and I probable never will. I love to be able to enjoy delicious meals like these every once in a while, but I also like how I feel when I eat clean and healthy. So, I love keeping things balanced.
