MIMM # 104 – Mother’s Day 2015

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there. I hope you had a wonderful day; we certainly deserve it!!

We had a marvelous weekend. It was busy, but equally relaxing. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother’s day.

Saturday, Sophia, Isabella, and myself went to one of the best birthday parties. It was at a swim school in our area, Goldfish. The girls and I swam, then there was pizza and cupcakes. SO. MUCH. FUN. This party got me even more excited for summer. Our subdivision pool opens in less then 2 weeks!!

Sunday morning we woke up ate breakfast and got ready for the day. We started our day visiting Grandma and Grandpa (Steve’s mom and stepdad). We all love going to their house. The girls love playing which means Steve and I were actually able to relax and chat with his parents. After visiting for awhile, we headed to brunch with my parents, grandma, sister, and brother-in-law. Brunch at Indianwood is always a wonderful time and once again it didn’t disappoint.

I wanted a picture of me with all of my girls, but it simply didn’t happen. 🙁

McKenzie and McKayla held hands all of the way outside. They we so cute!!

Happiness is this right here.

I didn’t realize how exhausted I was until I fell asleep on the way home from brunch and it’s only a 15 minute drive. Oh my!! McKayla felt the same way, so we napped together for a little bit, just what this mama needed. I think a nap needs to become a Mother’s Day tradition.

We had plans to mulch (yes, I was going to do some outdoor work on Mother’s Day), but unfortunately fortunately it rained. The rain was exactly what we needed, it meant that all of us could rest and it was the perfect mother’s day for this mama. The best part was snuggling with all of my girls and that is true happiness.

I want to take a moment and thank my mom for the person she is and always has been. She has always put her family first and has taught me everything I know about love and family. I am so blessed to have such an amazing women to learn from and look up to. I hope and pray each and every day to be the mom that she is to us. She is an incredible women and would do absolutely anything for her children. She “retired” from teaching right before McKenzie and McKayla were born, but she sure hasn’t had any free time. If she’s not helping me, she’s helping her mom, or my sister. She is something else, I tell you. I can’t even begin to tell you what a marvelous person she is. My girls are so blessed to be able spend so much time with their Mimi. I know that my girls will be okay as long as Mimi is in their lives, with Mimi around all is right in this world.
