My mom and I decided it was time to get away with my girls for a couple of days before school begins. So, we decided to take my girls to a cute town just 45 minutes north of us. We stayed at a hotel that has an indoor/outdoor waterpark, it was the perfect little getaway. My girls kept saying best day ever! They were so happy to have a few days with just Mimi and Mama.
Zehnder’s Splash Village is where we stayed, they have such great family packages. We stayed in a family suite, which came with waterpark tickets, breakfast each morning, a pizza dinner and a family style chicken dinner. It really was a great deal and made the entire experience simple. Being only 45 minutes away we will definitely be going again.
We spent the entire afternoon on our first at the waterpark, then enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner. Papa came and joined us for dinner, but unfortunately couldn’t stay and play.
On our second day we spent pretty much the entire day at the waterpark. We did take a break for lunch and a little downtime. I have learned it is best not to push my girls beyond their limit or emotions will take over and our day will not end well. Well, rested kids are happy kids. The extra snuggles with my girls is one of my favorites parts about time away. These are the times that remind me to take breaks each and every day to enjoy the quite moments with my girls.
That evening we had a pizza dinner in the restaurant and it was seriously some of the best pizza we have ever eaten. On a side note I am a very picky pizza person and this was amazing.
After dinner we went shopping. Of course, my girls wanted to bring home some souvenirs.
We had the option to go to the waterpark on our third day, but decided two days was plenty. So, we woke up, ate breakfast and headed home. It was just the right amount of time away and just what we needed. Honestly, I may need an even longer tropical vacation, but that will have to do for now.
And that’s a wrap…
Love making memories with my girls and my mom. These are the moments we will remember forever. These are the times that matter most.
