Sophia’s First Day of Kindergarten

Hi everyone. Today was the start of a new adventure for our family and I can’t believe we have begun a new chapter in our lives.

school - first day of kindergarten sophia

Our district has the kindergarteners ease into their long days. So, today was an orientation where half the class come to school with their parents to meet their teacher and explore their classroom and school. This was a fun morning. I loved watching the excitement on Sophia’s face; she really does love school. Tomorrow half the class with go to school for a full day then have Thursday off (the other half will go) and then on Friday the entire class will go for a full day.

Sophia is beyond excited she can’t wait to ride the bus and go back to school. On the way home from school today Sophia asked when bedtime was so she could go to sleep and wake up, get on the bus, and go to school. She is beyond ready. I am so proud of my little girl.

Today was not bad for me on the emotional front; since I didn’t even leave Sophia, but tomorrow on the other hand is going to be brutal. I cannot believe she is going to get on the bus all by herself. Tomorrow, I am going to meet her at school to bring her a few things and make sure she is all set on her first day. Friday, I will let her be, but tomorrow is my day to be a little protective; she is my first baby after all.

Here are some pictures from our day.

Isabella said, “Sissy I am going to miss you” and gave her a big hug.
