I can’t believe I missed What I Ate Wednesday last week. But I must say it felt great to have a week of no computer time. I loved unplugging and spending quality time with my girls. It was a much need refresh.
So, for today’s “What I Ate Wednesday” I thought I would do something a little different. I am going to share with you our favorite restaurants from our trip and talk about some of the things we ate throughout the week. As always thank you Jenn for hosting.
First, I have to tell you we stayed in a villa at Old Key West Resort (the 12 of us were able to stay together). We felt it was important to have a full kitchen; since we have four little girls. Having a kitchen enabled us to purchase groceries and not have to eat out every meal. About a month before our trip I created an account on gardengrocer and we were able grocery shop online. It was so simple. We made sure to order breakfast foods and stuff to make sandwiches. Key items for my girls were peanut butter, jelly, bread, eggs, pancake mix, syrup, milk, carrots, hummus, turkey, apples, bananas, water, baby food, disposable bibs, and yogurt. Most major cities/vacation spots have places that will deliver groceries and I highly recommend it; especially with kids. Once we placed our order I was able to choose a day and time for delivery. I picked Monday evening and sure enough I received a text message stating our groceries were with bell hop. I can’t tell you how easy it was to have a kitchen full of food.
Favorite Food from the Trip
Our top two must eat at places at Disney World would have to be Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary and Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party in Magic Kingdom. I tried to choose our number one favorite, but I couldn’t decide which one we liked better. They are completely different but equally magical. These are definitely two things I can’t wait to experience time and time again and I know my girls feel the same.
Chef Mickeys – Breakfast Buffet
Not only do you get to meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald the food is also amazing. We enjoyed scramble eggs, several types of hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, French toast, fresh fruit, and much more.
Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party
Wow, is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about our experience at Tomorrowland Terrace. It is a front row seat to Disney’s beautiful fireworks show. Tinkerbell literally flies right over you; my girls were in awe. My dad looked at me and said this right here is what is what makes this trip worth everything and boy was he right (I must tell you I think he said that every time my girls smiled). Isabella kept tell us that Tinkerbell was flapping her wings and waved to her. Sophia and Isabella were loving life. Watching their faces light up melts my heart and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Breakfast with the princesses is also a must do when you have little girls. Before going on our trip Sophia and Isabella talked about meeting all the different princesses so there was no way we could miss this. However, I must say for some reason my girls were much more shy with the princesses then they were with the characters. I am not sure if it was because we went to meet the princesses earlier in the week or what was going on, but it was still a lot of fun. We had breakfast with Epcot, but next time I would like to have breakfast at the castle (we couldn’t get a reservation; it fills up fast). If you would like to eat with the princesses at the castle you must make a reservation 6 months in advance or it won’t happen. We didn’t plan this trip 6 months in advance, so it simply wasn’t meant to be this time around.
McKenzie and McKayla even dressed for the occasion.
Seeing Disney World through our daughters eyes is magical; there is truly nothing like it. This is a vacation we will never forget. I am so grateful to have such wonderful parents who love to spend their time with us. I am blessed to have the family that I have; we all cherish our time together. Thank you Fran, Sarah, Ade, Scott, Mom and Dad for making our vacation magical. We couldn’t have asked to spend it with anyone else!!
Great pics! Looks like y’all had a great time!
