Hi everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful week. We are enjoying being home. It is always so much fun to go on trips, but it is nice to be home. Our week has been rough, for some reason McKenzie and McKayla have had a couple bad nights of sleep. Actually, only McKenzie has not been doing well. I don’t think she is sleeping well, between teething and this cold she isn’t very happy these days. Unhappy babies make for a tired and irritable Mommy. Just last week I was beginning to think how wonderful things were starting to become, then life throws a curve ball.
Since, it is Wednesday I am going to link up with Jenn for What I Ate Wednesday. I have to say I love going on a trip, but it is always nice to come home and get back to a routine. Not only with my girls, but with our meals as well.
Breakfast 8:00
My wonderful mom came over at 7am, like usual, so I could get some more sleep. Lately, it has been much needed. These past few nights McKenzie has been waking up more; she has a stuffy nose and is teething, not a good combination. Tomorrow, I am going to do a 5 month update and I will fill you in on how they have been doing this past month.
When I woke up at 8am I was in the mood for some pumpkin protein pancakes, if you haven’t tried them yet you must do so soon.
Lunch 11:00
Every time we go to New York to visit family we always bring back the most delicious Italian bread. It is the best. I just had to have a poached egg on it. Yum!!
Snack 11:30
After lunch I couldn’t help myself I had to have a piece of my dad’s apple pie. I told him he has to write down the recipe for us!!
Snack 3:30
Sophia and I went out and had a little adventure just the two of us while Isabella napped. When we got home I made myself half a peanut butter and jelly.
Snack 5:00
I cut up some fruit for us to share to hold us over until dinner.
Dinner 7:00
Dinner didn’t turn out exactly as planned, but hey what does? Over the weekend we got a coupon in the mail for a free rotisserie chicken from our grocery store, Steve and I thought that would make a perfect dinner one night. We decided he was going to pick it up on his way home and I would simply bake some fries, easy peasy (as Sophia would say). Not so much, first he couldn’t get out of the office nice and early and second once he got to the store he had to wait 15 minutes for the chicken to be done. Anyway, by the time he got home I had the big girls upstairs for story time. There goes our family dinner. Steve and I ate quickly in order to get McKenzie and McKayla down. I also wanted to make a salad for us, but that simply didn’t happen. Well that’s life.
Dessert
So I just had to finish up the apple pie with a little vanilla ice cream of course.

What was your favorite food from this week?
We ordered Mashed Potatoes from Whole Foods for Thanksgiving. I ate those like it was my job…Thursday, Friday, Saturday! Dinner never seems to be sit down anymore with kids. I can relate.
Oh mashed potatoes are delicious. 🙂
Kids and meals are not easy around here!!
