Good evening everyone. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We had so much fun on our vacation, but boy does it feel good to be home. Especially after our long day in the car yesterday. Since, it is Monday I am joining Katie for Marvelous in My Monday.
We love going to our family reunion every year. Sadly, we had to miss last year because McKenzie and McKayla were in the NICU. So, this year was even more special. Everyone finally met McKenzie and McKayla and we finally got to see everyone again. I hate going so long between visits with all our family, but it’s hard to get everyone together.
Seeing Granny (Steve’s Great-Grandma) is always a highlight of our trip. She is a special lady and we love her very much.
Loving Pop!!
Four Generations
After the reunion I started to think about how wonderful it is that our girls have four strong women in their lives. They have four Great-Grandma’s (Yes, all of Steve’s and my grandma’s are still with us; we are blessed.) to learn from and love. I am so happy that our girls can grow up knowing their great-grandmas the way that they do.
Marvelous is making it through 18 hours of driving in four days. We left for Virginia on Thursday at 6am and arrived at 4pm. Yes, that is ten hours in the car with four little ones. I must say it was not as rough as we had expected. However, we did stop 6 times in the first 2 hours. But that was the worst of it. Now, after our 10 hours in the car Sophia said she would never drive to Disney. Ha!! Steve asked her if we drove to Disney would you go and she said only if flew. I am not sure she liked are car ride.
Once, we arrive we had so much fun with our cousins. We went to see the farm that Pop (Steve’s dad) would come to as a child, we went to see cows (lots of them) and actually go to feed a few, and we went swimming a lot!!
We sat on our first tractor. Our little city girls loved the farm.
Marvelous is getting to eat cookies before dinner. Isn’t that what vacation is all about?
Sophia and Isabella loves sleeping in the same bed. They are working on earning their stickers so they can have a sleepover in Sophia’s bed. This should make for a nice week.
We truly had a wonderful time being together as a family. I love spending time with our girls. I look forward to many more family vacations!
Our little McKayla was sleeping in the car and you know what they say? Never wake a sleeping baby.
I hope your weekend was as blessed as ours and I can’t wait to hear all about it.
