On July 3rd, 2016 McKayla and McKenzie turned three. I still can’t believe that my babies came into this world 3 years ago. Most days I still can’t believe we have twins, two toddlers at the same time. But, when I look at these two, I sometimes think to myself that we had quite a few moments where we didn’t know if we would ever get to hold our baby girls. There were times we didn’t know if they would make it. But, at almost 34 weeks, we were blessed with two healthy babies and now toddlers. There are moments where I am overwhelmed by this whole twin mama thing, in those moments I try to remind myself of the blessing we have been given and I thank God for my girls. I truly don’t know what I would do without ALL my girls. They are my life, my everything.
Watching these two open presents was the best. Seriously, they were excited about everything and anything. I loved seeing the joy and gratitude in their faces. McKayla and McKenzie were genuinely thankful for their gifts, it didn’t matter how big or small.
New bikes were their big gifts and they loved them!! We are still working on learning how to ride them, but they sure look cute trying.
McKayla and McKenzie asked for have their party to be at Mimi and Papa’s house, on of their favorite places to spend their days. Of course, that is just what we did and we had the most wonderful afternoon celebrating our girls.
McKayla and McKenzie do not like cake (don’t ask me how that happens). Instead they asked for Mimi’s banana bread (it is delicious), so Mimi made them each their own. But, a birthday wouldn’t be complete without some cake so I made up some mini 4th of July cupcakes too.
Not only did we have banana bread and cupcakes, Mimi made a peach pie and Papa made an apple pie. It was all delicious. I must say sweets are my favorite and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
This apple pie is AMAZING!! I need to get it from my Dad ASAP!!
This is what happens when one of your toddlers tries to help carry the rest of the cupcakes.
This weekend we also took McKayla and McKenzie to their first movie, Finding Dory. It was wonderful. We all loved the movie and can’t wait until it comes out on DVD. I will share details and a few tips later this week.
