Wow, I truly had all the intentions in the world to check in throughout my 10 days away, but it simply didn’t happen and I must admit it felt good to disconnect.
Over the next few days I will tell you all about our fun adventures. Denver is truly a great city to visit with a family. I can’t wait to tell you about our trips to the aquarium and zoo. I wish we had more time I would have taken the girls to so many more places (the children’s museum and Six Flags).
Our trip began last Friday, July 3rd. We spent the evening and night at the airport hotel. It also happened to be McKenzie and Mckayla’s 2nd birthday, so we of course made sure to celebrate. I still can’t believe my babies are TWO!! When did they grow up? I remember holding them in the NICU like it was yesterday.
After checking into the hotel we made our way through the airport security to have dinner at a restaurant in the terminal. The girls loved being at the airport; they loved watching the planes, riding the escalators and simply being on vacation!! Staying at the airport was a highlight of their trip.
Saturday we woke up and calmly made our way through bag check and security (love staying at the airport the night before), we ate breakfast, boarded our plane and enjoyed the ride.
Our flight to Denver was AMAZING!! It was so much better then I expected. The most difficult part was having enough activities for McKenzie and McKayla to do during our 3 hour flight, but we made it with very little fuss.
Once we arrived in Denver we were starving so we found a pizza place called Grimaldi’s right around the corner from our hotel; if ever have a chance to eat here don’t pass it up. The pizza was AMAZING!!
We ended the day with some pool time fun. I can’t tell you enough how much I love that all my girls love the water.
We arrived home last night and I have just been digging out of endless laundry and suitcases. Ahhh!! I am hoping to get our lives back in order by this weekend. We will see. I will talk to you tomorrow and I can’t wait to share with you our wonderful day at the aquarium.
