I know I am way late on Christmas details, but here some highlights from our family filled Christmas.
Our Christmas began on December 23rd with dinner with my family at PF Changs. It is a tradition. We love this calm dinner before all the craziness begins.
Then on Christmas Eve morning we went to Steve’s dad’s house for breakfast. We enjoy a few hours with his dad and step-mom. It was a nice relaxing start to the day. We make sure to leave their house in time for naps. We know how busy the days are and we want to make sure our girls are well rested.
After naps it is almost time for church. We go to mass at 4:00 pm at our parish. I always meet my parents there at 3:15 to save seats and Steve brings the girls up just before 4:00. We know they wouldn’t last two hours sitting in church and we want everyone to enjoy Christmas Eve mass.
After mass we went home to our house just the four of us to have pizza (it’s become a tradition) :). Then we have Jesus’ cake. Sophia blows out the candles.
This year we decided to have a family movie night in our bed, so we watched The Grinch and then put the girls to bed at their usual time so they would be well rested.
Once the girls woke up on Christmas morning we went downstairs to see what Santa left us. We started with the stockings then moved on to the presents under the tree. This was a fun year with Sophia, she was so excited for everything.
After we opened gifts at our house we went to Steve’s mom’s house for our first Christmas morning breakfast and family gifts. This is the stop Sophia found out about going to Disney.
Our second morning stop was my parents house where we had another breakfast and opened up more gifts. Oh my!
We left my parents house right before nap time so the girls could get some rest for our last two stops.
After nap time we went to Steve’s grandma’s house for dinner, then this year we went back to my parents house (usually we would go to my grandma’s, but they changed it up) for a second dinner with my extended family.
My parents asked if the girls could have a sleepover at their house on Christmas and we decided that is would be a terrific way to end the day. So, the girls had a sleepover at Mimi and Papa’s house and spent the next day driving around in their new car and playing with some new toys.
We are all so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Yes, it was an extremely busy two days, but we are truly blessed to have so many people who love us. Thank you to all our family and friends for making our Christmas so special. We are truly touched by what wonderful people we have in our lives.
Your girls are adorable! We have a very similar Christmas with lots of running around. Fun though to see so much family over the holidays 🙂 Hope you all had a wonderful New Years!
Thank you. They are fun. Busy Christmas’s are fun, but exhausting. 🙂
