{I’m joining the MIMM link-up party}
What a weekend we had. It all begin with beautiful weather on Friday which brought us to the playground for the first time this year (just Mama and her girls; talk about a workout).
McKayla wanted her sis to sit by her, but McKenzie had other ideas.
Steve and I had date night on Saturday to celebrate his birthday. This date night thing has kind of become a once a month thing. I am not sure how that happened, but I must admit it’s kind of nice. 🙂
The girls spent the night at Mimi and Papa’s house and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing they are to take our four girls. First, of all they always thank us for letting them have our girls. Seriously? They’re crazy. Second, Mimi and Papa make it very easy. They always have the girls favorite milk, food, and all the special things they like. I don’t have to pack much; so nice. Our girls also have their own bedrooms (Sophia and Isabella share and McKenzie and McKayla share) always ready to go. It really is a dream to have parents/grandparents like them. Steve and I truly don’t know what we would do without them. Actually, I do; we would go crazy!! I can’t even begin to thank them enough for all they do for our girls and us.
After dropping the girls off we went to dinner at the Rochester Chop House and it was delicious. I had a salad with balsamic dressing, the filet with redskin potatoes and green beans. Not only was the food amazing the atmosphere is so lively and upbeat, yet elegant. It was a wonderful night for us. After dinner us old folks decided we simply wanted to go back to our quiet house, relax and go to bed. Ha!! I slept from 10:30-7:30 and it felt marvelous. Sleep is a glorious thing.
Sunday morning we woke up, went to breakfast and once again it was so quiet. I am not sure how I feel about all the silence. Don’t get me wrong it’s kind of nice, but I miss our chaos. After breakfast we came home and I cleaned for a good hour; it felt marvelous. Seriously, you can get so much done without little ones making extra messes. We then headed to the mall, ran some errands and finally ended up back at Mimi and Papa’s to celebrate Steve’s birthday!
The girls enjoyed see their Gigi (Great Grandma), giving Daddy his presents, eating cake, and wearing Mimi’s shoes (McKenzie and Mckayla’s favorite thing to do these days).
One thing I have learned is that you HAVE to spend time on your marriage. You have to remember that your relationship with your spouse is one of the most important things, if not the most important thing in your family. I know this can be difficult to do when you have little ones, but it is truly worth the effort. Over this weekend I realized even more then ever how wonderful Steve and I are together. We complement each other so well. We support each other and care for each other in all ways. We love each other with everything we are and that will never change no matter what. Having four young kids is not easy on a marriage I can attest to that, but as long as you always respect and love each other everything will be okay!!
The girls are all way too cute! It was nice running
Into you guys! I’m so glad you enjoyed your
Weekend! See you soon:)
Thank you. It was wonderful seeing you. I can’t believe your little one is coming so soon. 🙂
