I haven’t done a true What I Ate Wednesday post in awhile. The last couple weeks I gave you two new recipes. So, I thought it was time to share with you what a typical day of food looks like for me.
Breakfast 7:00am
I wake up to workout at about 4:45am and typically don’t eat before (I know I probably should at least grab a banana, but I just don’t like the feeling of working out right after eating something).
Once, the girls woke up we had breakfast together. I made pumpkin protein pancakes, one of our favorites.
Snack 9:00am
I was kind of hungry again, but not starving so I simply ate an apple and banana.
Lunch 12:00pm
Once, Isabella and I got home from gymnastics I was starving so I ate a poached egg with four egg whites. Before I started adding more protein into my diet I would have simply ate a poached egg, but now I add in some egg whites. Easy changes like this can really make a difference in your protein intake throughout the day.
Snack 1:00pm
I was in the mood for something sweet, so I ate a few dark chocolate covered pretzels with almond butter. Love this combo.
Snack 3:00pm
Dinner 6:00pm
While making dinner I snacked on carrots and hummus.
We took some of my homemade meat sauce out of the freezer, Monday. Tonight, we simply enjoyed some leftover sauce with pasta. So good!!
Treat 6:45pm
Before putting the girls to bed I ate our last Reese’s peanut butter tree (I kept it in the freezer), shapes are so much tastier. I am so sad that was our last. Do they make hearts?? I think so.
One of my goals for the year is to drink more water and last week I told you I was going to drink 16 ounces of water before eating each time throughout the day. Well, I am not following through, I just keep forgetting, our days are so busy. I need to step it up and figure out what is going to help me drink water throughout the day. Another goal of mine was to eat more produce. I need to get back into the routine of making salads. There was a time when I ate one every single day. I think I need to get in the habit of food prepping, I go through phases.

- What was your favorite food from this week?
My 7th grader is taking a competitive sports class this semester for gym and they have been focusing on healthy foods- he’s now on this we have to have salad or two different vegetables for dinner kick. I like it and it’s helping keeping us all stay on the healthy track. As for water, I just keep a giant water bottle on the table and keep sipping all day long.
