Good evening everyone. I hope your week is off to a wonderful start; we are almost half way there. I am in major countdown mode until our date night. I can’t wait!!
This morning we had Sophia’s kindergarten orientation; it was definitely bittersweet for me. I am so excited for her to be moving on to this next phase in her life, but I am also going to miss her like crazy. It is also a proud moment for me; she is so ready and will do an amazing job, but at the same time I can’t believe my little girl is going to kindergarten. After we left orientation Sophia asked me how many more days until she gets to go to school here? I told her about 120 days. She said that was too long.
Since, it is Tuesday it is time to talk about all things baby, toddler, preschooler, and more. Today, I am going to keep it simple. I just wanted to talk about the importance on playtime. I think too many parents overlook how important it is to let you little one simply play and have fun. Playtime is just as important as working on letters, number, etc. Children learn so much through playing especially with other kids. They learn to problem solve, think for themselves, pretend, this list could go on and on. It is also important to step back and let our children play without us hovering; sometimes easier said then done. I try to let my girls play without my around. I want them to enjoy being with each other. If they start to have a disagreement I will listen from a distance and wait to step in. I want them to learn to work this out; this is a very important life lesson.
Here are some pictures of my girls enjoying each other.
Our big girls crawling around with McKenzie. McKayla was not in a playing mood.
These pictures are amazing. I love watching them laugh and play together.
