I am sorry it is so late tonight, but today was crazy busy and this is the first moment I have actually been able to sit down. It all began at 4:30 this morning when McKayla woke up to nurse and I quickly realized I had a fever and was beginning to get mastitis. But, there was nothing I could do until McKenzie woke up to eat. I tried to go back to sleep, but I wasn’t able to, then finally McKenzie woke up at 5:15 and ate. She was able to pretty much clear the clogged duct, my hero. By the time I was done feeding her I simply went downstairs pumped (just to make sure all the milk was unclogged) and did my workout. Boy was I not in the mood this morning, but once I finished I was so excited to have completed it. I can’t believe I am almost done with this 30 day challenge.
Once I finished my workout the girls woke up and I got Sophia ready for school. School mornings are busy, but I have figured out a nice routine that works well for us. One thing I have learned is to have Sophia dressed before coming downstairs; that way she is completely ready for the day.
After dropping Sophia off at school I ran some errands, all by myself!! I know crazy. My wonderful mom had the other three girls. I know I say this all the time, but I don’t know what I would do without my mom.
Okay, so I have to share with you a little secret. I actually drank coffee today. Oh my!! If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know I don’t usually drink anything that has caffeine in it. However, the lack of sleep I have been getting lately is finally catching up to me. So, while I was at Target I decided to grab a caramel macchiato. It hit the spot and gave my just enough energy to make it through the day. Oh and we can’t forget I also got a slice of their tasty pumpkin bread (my favorite). I might just have to start drinking coffee, at least until we start getting some more sleep around here.
If I am going to start drinking coffee I want to work on keeping it as real as possible. Truly, that has always been why I avoided it. I never wanted to “waste” my calories on a drink, I’d much rather eat my calories.
While at Target I realized I have to shop for Sophia in the big girls section. Her clothes are no longer in the little girls section. She is growing up too fast. To make it even harder today there was a paper talking about kindergarten sign up. Seriously, no way. I am going to be one sad mommy when she goes to school.
Okay, now that we got all that out of the way let’s get down to business. As always, I am linking up with Jenn for What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday.
Breakfast 7:30
After working out I grabbed a banana to hold me over until I had a moment to eat breakfast. Once I got the girls out of bed we decided we wanted Greek Yogurt Waffles.
Snack 9:00
Lunch 12:00
I pretty much had a mix of things for lunch which has been pretty typical for me. I started with a turkey wrap, follow my a peanut butter and jelly flatbread sandwich, then finished with some leftover chicken breast. That was random, but tasty.
Snack 2:00
A handful of crackers.
Dinner 6:00
Steve had a lot of work to do, so he worked late. I was on my own for dinner which meant I didn’t have a clue what I felt like. Dinner started with a salad made up of chicken, almonds, walnuts, croutons, and cheese. I paired it with a baked sweet potato.
Dessert 7:30
I ended the night with my favorite single serve chocolate cake.
In the Comments Below:
- Tell me your favorite meal from the week?
- Do you like to end your night with something sweet? If so what is your favorite pick?
- Are you a coffee drinker? When did you start and why?
Glad your mastitis cleared up quickly! And thank goodness for a short-lived fever. I don’t know how you worked out with a fever! I love coffee…even when nursing. I typically just have one cup in the morning and that’s it for my caffeine intake (besides chocolate of course). *Sometimes* I have two cups but that’s only after a really rough night of the babies being up a lot. I know two cups is totally fine for you though when nursing. And yes, I ALWAYS end the day with something sweet. My husband randomly made cake the other night (haha) so we’ve been eating that at the end of the day. Not exactly healthy, but like you I eat everything in moderation. It is such a sweet, wonderful treat at the end of the long, busy, tiring day! 🙂
Thank you. Mastitis is no fun; I am just glad I know the signs. 🙂 Sometimes I don’t know how I workout everyday, but now that I have started I have fallen in love with it again. That cake sounds delicious. Totally with you on everything in moderation!!
I’m glad your mastitis cleared-up! I’m definitely a coffee drinker and boy do I miss the caffeine! I only drink one cup of coffee in the morning, but I just miss that little bit of energy that it gives me throughout the day, especially after not getting enough sleep the night before. I’m definitely looking forward to my regular cup of joe instead of decaf after the baby arrives!
Thank you. I did love my little bit of caffeine and I am sure it is going to happen more and more as life goes on with four girls. 🙂
