A Thank You + Our Poor Isabella

I had another organizing post planned, but I simply don’t think it is going to happen today. But I will get it out soon. 🙂 I was extremely excited when my Real Simple Magazine arrived and this months issue focusses on organizing. I will share with you some of the tips I have learned next week.

One of the things I loved about this issue is that it not only talks about cleaning and organizing your house, it talks about how to keep your house organized. Which is the thing I need to do. We clean our house, but it never seems to stay and in order for it to stay organized we have to keep at it all the time. I think the key thing to getting and staying organized is having a place for everything that comes in our house.

Thank You

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful comments and messages yesterday. They truly made me feel so much better about everything. Mother’s guilt is awful and like most mothers I feel it a lot. But I am going to try not to worry about it until Monday and wait to see what the results end up being. I am going to try to live in present and enjoy my wonderful family and I would like all of you to do the same.

Our Poor Isabella

Wednesday evening Isabella began to have a fever. Immediately, I thought her two year old molars. Therefore, I gave her medicine and put her to bed. She slept through the night and seemed to be okay in the morning. She still had a slight fever so I gave her another does of Tylenol; which immediately broke her fever. We went on with our day. All of a sudden Thursday evening her fever came back quickly. It wasn’t time for another dose of medicine and I was out. I called Steve and he rushed home to bring more. Before he arrived home Isabella had a seizure. Her temperature at that time was 103.4, the highest either of my girls have ever experienced. This was the scariest thing that has happen to one of my girls. I can’t even begin to explain how I felt. I was broken, but new I had to keep it together. Steve, walked through the door and immediately took Isabella to urgent care.

Once they arrived at the urgent care, they took fantastic care of them. Isabella was sleeping when the got there so they put Steve and her in a room with a bed and he laid with her while they did some testing. By the time they got there her fever was up to 104.4. Therefore, they begin working on techniques to drop her fever, it took about two hours, but it was finally down to 100.1 when they left.

Isabella ended up having a Urinary Tract Infection, which I didn’t even know babies or toddlers could get. I began to do some research and come to find out about 5% of children get them. When Steve and Isabella arrived home last night she was the happy little girl I know and love. I missed her so much. Today, she is doing fabulous and seems to be on her way back to normal.

Now, let me tell you I was one sad Mama when Steve told me he thought it was best for me not to go to urgent care and stay with Sophia. All I wanted to do was be with my sick little girl. I needed her as much as she needed me. But, he said I also needed to take care of the babies in my belly and he was right. I would have been a mess during all the testing. I am so blessed to have such an amazing man in my life and our girls. He is the best daddy any girls could ever want. He will take care of all of us no matter.

I have a special tribute post to my mom and all mom’s planned to go out tomorrow. Incase, your fabulous weekend is already getting started and you won’t get a chance to check back. I want to wish all mom’s out the a wonderful Mother’s Day Weekend!! Enjoy, you deserve it.

My mother tells me that this happened to me when I was a toddler as well. I would be fine and happy and then 2 seconds later, I would have a HUGE fever and basically pass out.

The bad news is, these terrible UTI’s still affect me today and they come on just as quickly, but the good news is, I know what they are now about the second they happen, I have a stockpile of medicine to treat them from my OB, and they barely affect my life now. I also have all kinds of tricks and preventative measures that I do to help keep them away.

I can’t really imagine how scary it all was for you and my heart aches for you but I am so very glad that you have a strong husband and daddy there for you and your girls! Yay Steve!

    Is she feeling better today?

    • I really debated writing about this today, but I am so glad I did. Hearing your story really helps me feel a little better about what is going on with our Bella. I had never heard about this before so it is really nice to hear it from someone who has gone through it.

It was the worst experience. As mother’s we feel our children’s pain and I definitely felt it all.

She is doing much better today. I have been able to keep her fever under control with medicine. She is still not eating 100%, but she seems happy. She tells me she hurst done there. 🙂 Thank you for caring. It means a lot!!

Oh my gosh you poor thing! Isabella too of course but I know exactly how you feel as far as having to watch someone you love have a seizure. After going through a series of them with my hubby after a severe head trauma, this is my biggest fear with the Love Nugget. There are times when he will gaze off (similar to what the hubby did before he had his) or twitch a certain way and my heart drops to my stomach thinking that he’s going to have one. He actually got a fever a few weeks ago that I thought was due to teething but ended up being an ear infection. It got up pretty high as well and I was petrified he would have a seizure! Such a scary thing!
I taught preschool for 5 years ages 2-5 and bladder infections were seen from time to time. Especially in little girls that are learning to potty train or wipe themselves. No fun but glad to hear she’s doing much better!

    • Thank you. I cannot believe what you have been through. Now that I have seen someone I love have a seizure I feel for anyone who has had to go through that.

I pray that Love Nugget does not go down the seizure route, I wouldn’t want you to have to experience this with you little one.

The whole teething thing is just such a mystery. One moment I think I have it all figured out and the next I am surprised by something and I am quickly learning each child is different. Sophia never had anything like this and we barely even knew she was cutting teeth.

I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!!
