WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS (2)

I can’t believe I haven’t done a What I Ate Wednesday in quite awhile, so I thought it was time. As you know I have been sick with pneumonia, therefore I haven’t worked out for about 2 weeks and I really hate it. But, I have still been eating clean. Since, I followed the 21 Day Fix Extreme nutrition plan for 6 weeks I know the plan by heart; I really don’t even need the containers. I basically follow it on a daily basis even now. I am still letting myself take a little break from my almost perfect eating on the weekends. I would say I eat clean about 80% of the time.

Yesterday, I wasn’t feeling 100% so I decided it was best for me to skip my workout and that makes me sad. I worked out on Monday and was really hoping to get back into my routine, but I am not sure I am ready to go all out yet. Before getting sick I was working out about 6 days a week and I am definitely not ready for that.

Yesterday was a pretty typical day for me when it came to my food.

I started my day with Protein Pumpkin Pancakes; these never get old.

Before heading out to Isabella’s dance I had a bowl of strawberries and grapes.

For lunch I made 4 eggs whites and sweet potatoes. I love this combo.

A little bit after lunch I was craving something sweet so I have a tsp. of almond butter (that cures my sweet craving every time).

Around 3:00 I was getting hungry again and knew once I got Sophia off the bus it was go, go, go so I made a nice big salad.

This is a recycled pictured. Lately, I haven’t been putting cheese on my salads. I realized I really don’t miss it, so why waist the calories. 🙂

I grabbed an apple right before walking to the bus stop.

Once we got back from dance pictures I was starving, but knew I needed something quick so I made an oldie, but a goodie. I cooked up some ground turkey and made a pita burger. Yum!! (I’m sorry it was another crazy night and I forgot to take a picture.)

I ended the evening with a tsp. of almond butter.

Wow!! my day of eats seems so boring, but I love it and it is working for me. 🙂

If you don’t mind me asking… What does your husband usually eat for dinner? Does he eat all of the same things as you? Or does he do his own thing? That seems to be my hardest part! Not that my husband doesn’t want to eat healthy, he is just not into the clean eating and healthy food all of the time!! I find myself doing great for breakfast and lunch but dinner is always so hard for me because I’m trying to please everyone!!!

    • This is a great question. Most nights we do eat the same thing for dinner. However, last night (this post’s dinner) he did not. He wanted leftover tacos and I made a burger pita. Tonight I am making my healthier chicken parmesan so we will both eat that. Some nights I may make a potato and a veggie, but I will only eat the veggie. Basically, for the most part I only make one dinner, but I may add a thing or two to his. I hope that makes sense. 🙂 Trying to please everyone is exhausting. I will say most nights I make at least 2 different dinners. Ahhhh!!

  2. I love reading about your daily eats. They are so simple and that is easiest. Even thpugh I am not a mom, between work and gym time during the week it can be so hard to fit in meals. I love hearing about easy healthy meals to make

  3. Good for you on listening to your body & taking a rest day. I’m just keeping my fingers & saying extra prayers that you start feeling back to your normal self soon xo.
