September 2017

Hello, Hello

Wow, it has been way too long and I am so sorry. I have truly missed blogging, but this break was much needed. Life just got beyond busy and being a mom and wife is ALWAYS my priority. It my reason for living each and every day.

With the start of school, activities and life in general September had been crazy. However, we are finally getting into a groove. I’m not going to lie though getting all four out the door ready for school by 8am is quite the task. But, each and everyday it gets easier and easier. Our routine is coming together perfectly.

McKayla and McKenzie have been going to school 3 days a week for 3 hours a day and I am not sure how I feel about it. I know I should be loving my alone time, but quite frankly I am NOT. I miss my little buddies. I miss my shadows. I am slowly getting used to it, but that doesn’t mean it gets any easier and it doesn’t mean I have to like it. I just don’t think I will ever like not being with my girls.

Life Lately…

McKayla and McKenzie were beyond excited to have their very own book orders. Circling books is serious stuff in our house.

School is exhausting

They nap…

I drink more coffee. How much is too much?!? When should I worry?

I  live for these after nap snuggles.

I love waking up to these two holding hands. The love between twins is miraculous.

The firetruck came to visit McKayla and McKenzie’s school this week and boy did they not like it. Their teachers told me they were terrified. McKenzie cried the entire time and of course McKayla didn’t leave her side. But, they sure did love their helmets.

I can’t believe how grown up Isabella looks. Where did my baby go?

And this girl. Really?!? They can stop growing up any time now.

Since, school started we have definitely been seeing Mimi and Papa much less, but when we do we make every second count.

Shopping with my girls is still one of my favorite past times.

Any store will do…

they sure do love it…

September wouldn’t be complete without celebrating Snicky’s (McKayla’s new puppy) birthday. {These banana chocolate chip muffins are amazing and so easy}

This weekend Sophia and I are headed to Denver to visit my brother, sister-in-law and niece. I CANNOT wait to spend alone time with my Sophia. But, of course mom guilt for leaving my other girls behind is killing me too. But, Daddy has lots of fun activities planned for them. And I know this is one weekend Sophia and I will never forget.

**I have been getting a ton of messages and emails telling me how much they miss my daily posts. I have had multiple requests to bring back What I Ate Wednesdays, Fitness Fridays, etc. I promise now that our home life is getting more of a routine I will start to get back into blogging more regularly. Like I said I truly missed it I can’t wait.**

McKayla and McKenzie’s 1st Day of Preschool

This week another piece of my heart went out into the world without me. McKayla and McKenzie began the next phase of their lives and I couldn’t be more proud. But at the same time I am absolutely miserable. Yes, I am so sad that I have to say goodbye to my babies a few days a week. I am not sure I am ready for this yet. However, I must say it is much easier watching McKayla and McKenzie walking into class together, hand in hand. They have each other, always and forever.

It all began last Wednesday at orientation. They were beyond happy, but very nervous. Before starting school McKayla and McKenzie both said they were excited, but they would miss Mama. My girls! The only thing that makes this easier on their mama is that they have each other.

Then the first day of school was finally arrived on Tuesday and they couldn’t have been more excited…

Today, after kisses and hugs they walked into class hand in hand. McKenzie simply looked at Sissy and they held each others hand. Talk about melting my heart. Watching the love these two have for each other is amazing. I am truly blessed to be able to watch McKayla and McKenzie grow up together.

1st day of School 2017

I still can’t believe summer has come and gone once again. Seriously, where are the days, weeks, months, years going?! Our girls are growing up too fast, but oh so beautifully. They truly are such amazing little women. God has blessed us for 4 wonderful daughters.

Sisters…

Sophia my 3rd grader…

Isabella my 1st grader…

Their baby  sisters are sure going to miss them…

A back to school celebration isn’t complete without cake…

The first day of school is always bittersweet for me. I am beyond excited for my girls to begin a new adventure, but I miss them dearly when they are gone. I wonder what they are are doing and if they miss me. I wonder if they need as much as I need them.

Family Pictures 2017

Anyone who knows me knows I love family pictures. Well, I don’t love all the preparation and work, but I ALWAYS love the outcome and this year was our easiest year yet. I love having pictures taken each year. Steve however does not, but this year he didn’t mind it. Afterwards, he told me it wasn’t that bad. First of all we Karri Brantley was AMAZING!! She was sweet, funny, and kind. We loved her from the start and our pictures turned our perfect!! I loved how she caught each of our girls personalities. Isabella and McKenzie are definitely our silliest and boy did she capture their laughs. Sophia and McKayla are much more serious, they simply wanted to take their pictures, no goofing around. 🙂

Our family pictures throughout the years….
