What a marvelous weekend we had. I feel rested and ready to take on our week. Today, was another snow day (too cold). It’s crazy Sophia cannot wait to go back to school and I am ready for a change and to get back into our normal routine.

This weekend began with a nice and relaxing Saturday morning followed by taking the girls to spend the night at Mimi and Papa’s house.

Oatmeal picnic!

Doesn’t everyone just hang out on boxes?

Steve and I enjoyed a night out with wonderful friends. Our evening couldn’t have been better. It began with appetizers and wine at their house followed by dinner at an amazing steakhouse (amazing doesn’t even do it justice). If you are in the area you MUST and I mean MUST eat at Mr. Paul’s Chophouse (it’s 45 minutes from our house, but so worth it.) Seriously, their filet was one of the best I have ever had (and I have eaten at a lot of steakhouses; Steve loves his steak), the atmosphere was perfect, and the fresh tableside Caesar salad is AMAZING!! sign Sunday morning came much later then usual; we slept in until 8:30am; that’s unheard of in our house. I can’t tell you the last time we slept that late. I must say I felt like a new women. I woke up, completed 21 Day Fix Yoga Extreme (the perfect workout after a night out), ate a banana and cleaned (so much easier without 4 little ones making messes behind me). Seriously, I got so much done in less the an hour.

Sunday afternoon we went to the mall to return a couple pairs of boots and try to find a piece of furniture for our garage entry way. I have no idea what I want. Well, I thought I knew, but after looking at three different stores I am clueless. Steve fell in love with a piece from Crate and Barrel, but I am just not sure yet. In the end we are probably going to end up with it, but I just need time to think about it. Ahhh, I hate making decisions.

After shopping we spent the evening at Mimi and Papa’s house with our girls. They love being there and I love watching their sweet little faces light up with happiness whenever they are there. I can’t even tell you how much fun they have and they are already asking to go back. It’s a good thing Mimi and Papa love having us there too!! The crazy thing is they always thank us for letting them have our girls. For real?!? That’s crazy talk. Haha!!

Sophia told Papa she was cold (after her bath) and of course he made the girls a huge fire.

McKenzie and McKayla playing guess who in Mimi and Papa’s lower level (the girls’ hang out)!! Seriously, this is a child’s dream playroom.

After lot’s of playing we enjoyed a fabulous dinner of steak, chicken, potatoes, and green beans (I need to make these more). We finished the evening with a delicious angel food cake. The perfect ending to a wonderful weekend.

Thank you Katie for hosting Marvelous in My Monday.
