2 Weeks Postpartum + Tauts Post Pregnancy Wrap

2 Weeks Postpartum + Tauts Post Pregnancy Wrap

Over this past month or so I have been so blessed with the outpouring of wonderful companies wanting me to try their products during my postpartum recovery.

Tauts Wrap

One of the products that I was sent was the Tauts Post Pregnancy Wrap by Brooke Burke. I have to say looking at Brooke Burke’s body after having four children I don’t know who wouldn’t want to use her products to help get your belly back after babies.

BROOKE BURKE Goes for a Workout

Tauts Belly Wrap is very comfortable. I have actually slept in it several times. The directions say you want to wear it as much as you can in the first eight weeks, so an easy way to get a substantial amount of hours wearing it is through the night. You can wear it under certain outfits, but sometimes it is detectable, so night time is a great option. Once you put this wrap on it doesn’t roll or move around. You barely even know you are wearing it. I also love that it is easy to put on.

The material is so soft.

Tauts

Since giving birth to my twins my waist (I measure around the bellybutton.) has gone from 39 inches (almost 34 weeks pregnant) to 31 inches (2 weeks postpartum).

I am a huge believer in belly binding after pregnancy. I used a hospital grade one after my first two daughters and I was back to my pre pregnancy jeans in a couple weeks, exactly the same this time around. I know that it is not an end all be all, but It simply makes my loose belly feel better.

2 Weeks Postpartum Update

Let’s start with McKenzie’s homecoming. We were so excited when we were told on Sunday that she would be discharged the next day, as long as she continued doing well throughout the night. Monday morning we called to see how everything was going and we got the official news that McKenzie would be coming home with us that day. I was beyond excited to be taking her home, but it was also bittersweet to leave McKayla. I felt like I was leaving her all alone, at least before they were there together. But, it has been wonderful to have McKenzie home and makes me look forward to McKayla’s homecoming.

Last night we got a wonderful update on McKayla. She has been moved into an open crib. I am going to feed her this afternoon, so I will take a picture of McKayla in her new bed. Her temperature has been staying high while in the incubator and it has been on the lowest setting for almost a week, so the doctor felt it was time to give an open crib a try. Her weight has been going up about an ounce a day, which is a lot and a wonderful thing for our tiny girl. As of last night she weighed 3 lbs. 9.4 oz.  She has been taking about 7 out of 8 of her feedings from either breast or bottle; some days she takes all 8. All of this good news makes me hopeful she will be home sooner than later.

Getting Your Body Back

I do believe that I have good genes. I tend to bounce back rather quickly after giving birth. I have done so with all three of my pregnancies. I contribute being at a good fitness level and working out before getting pregnant to having an easier time getting back to my pre-pregnancy self. Not only does my body bounce back faster, but I do feel it has made my recovery so much easier. If your pregnancy allows you to, it is best to work out while your are pregnant (always check with your doctor). With both my singleton pregnancies I worked out up until the day I gave birth. With Isabella I was doing P90X Kenpo on Friday and she was born on Monday. Basically, take care of yourself before, during, and after pregnancy; everything will fall into place. Of course, have fun too. Enjoy being pregnant, you will only be pregnant a few times in your lifetime. Cherish your moments. It is truly hitting me that these two precious babies are our last and I will never carry another baby in my belly again.

I can say right now two weeks after giving birth to twins I don’t even feel like I was pregnant. Physically I feel great. I feel as though I could jump back into anything; which is a wonderful thing since I have four daughters that need the best of me.

I am also one of those people that feels breastfeeding has helped me lose weight. This time that is no exception. I am making so much milk and my body is burning a ton of calories. My body is definitely working hard for two babies. When you are breastfeeding you need to make sure to eat enough and I can honestly say I have not been doing that lately. I am really trying to keep my food intake high, but with everything going on there is simply no time to eat. I am always making sure to try and get a lot of protein, fruits, veggies, etc. When I do have time to eat I want to make sure it is substantial and beneficial for my girls and me.

I know from past experience that even though I may get down to my pre-pregnancy weight and my clothes may fit doesn’t mean I am back to my pre-pregnancy body until I start working out again. Which I am so excited to do ASAP.

Next week I will talk about stretch marks and twin skin and how I think I was able to avoid them. When I first found out I was pregnant with twins I thought both were inevitable.

Weight Loss 2 Weeks Postpartum: -23 (6 pounds to go to pre-pregnancy weight)

I have also been using Shrinkx Belly; simply a different wrap. I will be writing a review about that one any day now. Stay tuned!

oh please please PLEASE tell me about how you think you avoided stretch marks and twin skin. So far I have yet to get any stretch marks (knocking on wood every time I say that), but I am pretty scared that my stomach will be ruined forever. Granted, I wouldn’t care because I would have two healthy babies, but it would be nice to someday wear a bikini again. 😉

I am so glad you are feeling so well. I am definitely looking around at different binds for my stomach for after the girls are born. The sooner I can get into my old clothes (and avoid buying anything else) would be ideal!

I’m curious to heat what you did to avoid the dreaded twin skin. My twins are now 3 1/2 months and I was lucky enough to avoid it and the stretch marks! I didn’t really do anything special besides putting body butter on everyday. I’m not site how I am in the weight department, but I think I’m getting close to my pre preg weight. My clothes definitely fit differently and of course my boobs are massive from bfing these two babes!

Awesome news!!!!!!! I too avoided all stretch marks and twin skin! woohoo!!! I guess one benefit of babies being born a bit early AND fantastic genetics?! 🙂 I was back in my pre pregnancy clothes at 4 weeks post partum. Thank god for awesome genes, right? And like you said being active and eating healthy does help in a huge way. Although I was on bed rest since 20 weeks I feel like my body still remembered what to do. Now I just have a little soft tummy I want to get hard again. But it’s really not all that bad and totally worth it for these sweet little ones 🙂 You are doing great, can’t wait to see more pics of the girls!
